Did you know that God's favour is a gift from Him to you?
You didn't have to earn it, neither can you buy it because it is what Jesus did at Calvary. That earned the favour of God!

Psalm 5:12 says that the Lord has blessed the righteous (that's you) with favour (Good Will and Pleasure) and He has surrounded you as a shield.

We see from this verse that we as children of God are to expect God's favour in our lives on a day to day basis!

Let's look at more scriptures concerning the favor of God. These are promises you can speak over your life and see supernatural results!

Say it out: The favour of God will produce and cause...

  • - Supernatural Increase and Promotion - Genesis 39:21
  • - Restoration of everything that the enemy has stolen from me - Exodus 3:21
  • - Honour in the midst of adversaries - Exodus 11:3
  • - Increased assets, especially in the area of real estate - Deuteronomy 33:23
  • - Great victories in the midst of great impossibilities - Joshua 11:20
  • - Recognition even when it seems the likely to receive it - 1 Samuel 16:22
  • - Prominence and preferential treatment - Esther 5:8
  • - Policies, rules, regulations and laws to be changed and reversed to my advantage - Esther 8:5
  • - Battles won which I won't even have to fight because God will fight them for me - Psalm 44:3

The more you begin to speak out God's favour and honour, it changes any insecurity into confidence and success!

So make it a choice today to believe that God's favor, miracles and blessings will unfold before you this day!!

The Word tells us that we are in a battle!

Jesus Himself, the Head of the Church, teaches us how we should resist the devil in every form he comes against us.

God also says in the Bible through Paul that you must know who your enemy is, and put on the whole armour of God so that you might be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. (Ephesians 6:11-18)

Once we as children of God receive the Holy Spirit, we receive supernatural power into our lives. That power enables us to do the same works that Jesus did when He was on the earth.

Now just because we are born again, it doesn't mean we won't face opposition from Satan. In fact, when we look at the life of Jesus, we see that He faced many oppositions throughout His ministry yet He overcame every one of them victoriously.

Let's take a look at the scriptures and see how we too can live this victorious life.

In the book of Matthew 4, Jesus gives us the perfect way to resist the devil.

Verse 3 says: And when the tempter came to Him, he said, If you be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.

Now if you read the next couple of verses as well, you'll notice that Satan uses the word "IF" constantly to cause Jesus to doubt and make Him believe his lies.

Doubt is one of Satan's greatest tools he uses to deceive a child of God. For instance, he may have put thoughts into your mind such as, "What if you don't get healed?"

He can also try to confuse and mess up your mind during times of pressure causing you to lose your joy and make you focus on the circumstances.

So in times like these, how are we supposed to resist him? Well, let's go back to Matthew 4 and see what Jesus did to those thoughts.
Verse 4: But He (Jesus) answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.

"IT IS WRITTEN!" Now that's your answer for the rest of your life.

Jesus used THE WORD to counteract those negative thoughts of doubt and unbelief. Sure enough, that devil had to leave because of the power of Jesus' words.

Having the word of God in your heart is one thing, but speaking it out of your mouth makes a huge difference. That's what Satan is afraid of!

Hebrews 10:23 says: Let us hold fast the confession of our faith without wavering; (for He is faithful that promised;)

So if it's a need for healing, speak out Isaiah 53:5: "By His stripes I am healed."
During those times of pressure, begin to declare, "I've got the joy of the Lord and I won't accept confusion. No pressure can put confusion on me. My mind belongs to God in Jesus' name!"

The Word of God is your strongest weapon and there's nothing the devil can do with the Word of God, nothing!

God is a personality! He is someone whom we can have fellowship with all the day long. He is also a God who loves to share His heart with us! Isn't that amazing?

The book of 1 Corinthians 2:16 tells us that we have the mind of Christ. This means everything that belongs to Jesus, also belongs to us.

It also says in Jeremiah 29:11, that God's plans for us are good and prosperous!
Just by reading these verses, we can clearly see that God is truly a personality who is interested in each and every one of us.

When we receive Jesus Christ into our lives, we become His sons and He becomes our Father. Every good father has good treasures laid up for their children.
James 1:17 says: Every good and perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

Everyday we need to confess the blessings that God has provided for us. Our confession brings the possesion.

So just begin to thank and praise Him for benefits such as healing, prosperity, a sound mind, wisdom, deliverance and so much more!
Psalm 100:4 says: Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.

Psalm 37:4 says: Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give you the desires of your heart.

The more you start taking pleasure in the Lord to seek after Him with your whole heart, you'll begin to see His direction and guidance for your life!

It's sad to say but many Christians today believe that God's healing power has passed away, or only existed in Bible times.

Many also believe that God is the cause for all pain and suffering. They even blame Him for all the bad things that happen to them.

They prove this by taking the scripture from Job 1:21 where it says, "The Lord gives and the Lord takes away, blessed be the name of the Lord."
However if you read this scripture in context, you'll notice that in chapter 3:25, Job confesses that it was HIS FEAR that brought destruction upon his life.
God had blessed him abundantly with all goodness but Satan stole it away from him. Why? As said before, Job opened up his life to fear and gave the enemy room to destroy everything he had!

Fear is a spirit that can cause great harm to a person's life.
2 Timothy 1:7 says that God has not given us the spirit of fear; but He's given us power, love, and a sound mind.

We've got to realise that Satan is the author of all fear and destruction.

God is the giver of abundant life.
John 10:10 says that the thief (Satan) comes to steal, kill and destroy: but I (Jesus) have come that you might have life, and that you might have it more abundantly.

When God created this world, sickness and disease did not exist. It all began when Adam and Eve obeyed the voice of Satan by eating of the fruit, which allowed Satan to steal the authority and dominion God had given to them. In doing so, Satan was able to exercise dominion over man causing him to be seperated from God.

But thank God for Jesus!

He came to this earth to destroy the works of the enemy and gave us back the authority which Adam lost at the garden of Eden (Heb 2:14,15).

In Luke 10:19 Jesus said, "Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you."

This means we have power over all sickness, disease, fear and every evil work of the enemy.

When Jesus bore those 39 stripes on His back, He took it for every sickness and disease that could be named. The crown of thorns on His head, symbolises that we have freedom from all mind problems.

To make it simple, Jesus took the curse and gave us the blessing. (Galatians 3:13)

When we understand the true meaning of the cross, it will bring joy into our lives instead of sorrow!

You don't have to be bound any longer to sickness and live in pain the rest of your life!
Healing is a free gift that God has given you! You don't have to beg God to heal you because He has already done it 2000 years ago. All you have to do is receive it by faith and believe that it is yours today!

Here are some scriptures you can refer to concerning healing. Consider them as God's healing medicine for your life:
Isaiah 53:4.5
Psalm 118:17
Psalm 103:2-5
Exodus 23:25,26

Healing belongs to you today! Hallelujah!

The world's order of things is unsure and indefinite.
Desperate words of uncertainty are crying out daily from radio, television, and newspapers. Everything around us seems to be in turmoil.

But praise God, if you're a believer of Christ you have something you can depend on: THE UNCHANGING WORD OF GOD!

God has no double standard. He doesn't say one thing today and something else tomorrow. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

In the the book of Malachi 3:6 God says, "I am the Lord, I change not."

If you will make the Word the final authority in your life, it will give you stability when everything else around you is unstable.

If you'll let what God says settle the issues of life, you'll be confident when others are confused. When others are under pressure, you'll be peaceful. You'll be overcoming when others are being overcome!

So what does it mean to make God's Word the final authority?

  • It means believing what He says instead of believing what people say.
  • It means believing what He says instead of what Satan says.
  • It means believing what He says instead of what the circumtances say.

Determine in your heart to do that today. Make up your mind to live by faith, not by sight. Fearlessly commit yourself to the authority of God's Word and there won't be anything in this unstable world that can steal your security from you!

You can also meditate on Psalm 9:1-10.

Remember, as a born again believer, you can make God's Word YOUR FINAL AUTHORITY!

Many people think that in order for them to be accepted and loved, they need to accomplish something big in their life so that they'll be noticed.

Now if that was so in receiving salvation, none of us would have been saved!

Ephesians 2:8 says: For by GRACE are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: IT IS THE GIFT OF GOD.

Another meaning for the word "grace" is "unmerited favor."
You see, none of us could do anything to receive God's grace because all our good works could never lead us to the knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Salvation is a free gift that God has given you to enjoy. In salvation we have healing, prosperity, joy, wisdom, deliverance and all good fruits!

The love that God has shown us is incomparable with the world's form of love because His love is unconditional. This love is clearly shown through the life of Jesus in the gospels.
You'll notice that Jesus loved all people regardless of who they were and never looked down on any man.

So if God, the creator of the universe has chosen you, why should you be disappointed if the world doesn't choose you?

You are handpicked by God!
Ephesians 1:3,4 tells us that God has chosen us in Him before the foundation of the world.

Ephesians 2:6 says that God has raised us up together, and made us sit together with Him in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.

This is your true indentity! You are who God says you are and you can be all He wants you to be!

The apostle Paul understood what it means to be totally forgiven and accepted by God.
Before he came to Christ He was a murderer, yet God chose him to write almost two thirds of the New Testament!
This shows us that God shows no partiality. He doesn't care what your race is. He doesn't care what your background is. He doesn't care how terrible your past has been.

God still invites you as you are to belong to Him. Step by step his love will change your heart from the inside out.

God loves us equally. It is religion that tells us we're so unworthy. Well, yes it is true - we were unworthy but that was the reason Jesus came to this earth.
Romans 5:8 says, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
God gave his best to us so that He might obtain many sons and daughters into His family - and that includes you and me!

Therefore you don't ever have to say "I'm unworthy." By receiving Christ into your heart, you become worthy in God's sight!

The next time you hear the devil - or anyone else telling you that "you won't do," remind him that you are a different person!

  • You are set apart.
  • You are chosen.
  • You are included.
  • You are handpicked.
  • You are God's possession.
  • You are God's special treasure.
  • You have been made righteous.
  • You are worthy.
  • You are one of God's greatest creations and you are loved by Him!

Times of hardness are inevitable. You need to know that.
It's true that we've been redeemed from the curse, and there's nothing Satan can do to reverse that, but he is going to challenge you on it.

So don't be surprised when things get tough!

Times will come when you have to stand strictly by faith, when you'll have to speak and act as though what God says is true even when you can't feel or see it happening around you.
There will be times when everything looks terrrible. That's when you must endure hardness as a good soldier.
2 Timothy 2:3 says: "Endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ."

So many people hear the word of faith about healing and prosperity and they think, "Hey! I'm going to try that." Then when the hard times come, they give up and quit.
Why? Because they haven't realised that living by faith is not something you try. It's a lifestlye.
You do it whether it's hard or easy. You do it all the time because you know that faith pleases God (Hebrews 11:6).

Think about the life of Jesus and the way He responded to tough times.
At one point when He and His disciples were on the boat, they faced a vigorous storm. The disciples panicked but Jesus was asleep!
Now how could He be at rest in a situation like this? In the natural, anyone in that position would panic and lose all hope.

So how was Jesus totally calm and peaceful during this storm?

The reason is because He knew that He had the AUTHORITY and POWER. He didn't allow the circumstances to gain control over His life.

Instead, He used His authority and said "Peace, be still!"

Then we see Jesus rebuked His disciples and said, "Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?"

You see, the disciples could have done exactly what Jesus did, yet they allowed fear to grip them causing their faith to produce no results.

Always remember that death and life are in the power of the tongue!
You can either choose to speak what you see and feel, or you can determine to speak God's word and experience miraculous results.

Every child of God has been given power and authority (Luke 10:19). The way you use it is by speaking forth life out of your mouth instead of death.

Things may get a little rough at times, but let me assure you, you'll always come out on top if you endure hardness as a good soldier.
If you refuse to faint and fall away, you will have the victory! (You can also refer to Numbers 14:1-24.)

Remember, the only defeated Christian is the one who quits!

As believers, we believe that Jesus shed His blood for the forgiveness of our sins.
However, we need to realise that His blood has been given to us for another important reason. Let's take look at that.

In addition to the forgiveness of our sins, the blood brings us to the place where Satan cannot touch us! We see this in the book of 1 John 5:18.
Revelation 12:11 tells us that we have overcome the devil by the BLOOD of the Lamb and the word of our testimony.
Nowhere in the New Covenant are we told to plead and beg the devil to leave us. His rightful place is under our feet!

In the Old Testament, redemption meant killing an animal and offering it once a year to cover the people's sins. But it could never provide a NEW NATURE.
Jesus provided us a redemption that has taken care of all our sins once and for all.

Therefore when we sin, we ought to remember that we've got a lawyer - whose name is Jesus Christ, and He's never lost a case!
Why? Because of the blood that He has provided which has paid our sin debt in full.

Now if you are walking around with guilt in your heart, it shows that you deny the power of the cross.

Knowing the true revelation of the cross will bring joy into our lives instead of sorrow.

By partaking of the communion, we've got to remember what Jesus did for us, then simply believe and receive it.

His body was broken for every sickness and disease. The crown of thorns shows that Christ took the curse that was ours. The cup pronouces that we are not guilty! (Read 1 Corinthians 11:23 - 25)

The Covenant Meal is not a religious practice that we perform.
It's a time where we celebrate and rejoice because of what Christ has done for us.
Think of it like this: If you were sentenced to death because of a terrible crime you committed but someone decided to come and take your place, wouldn't that bring joy to your heart?
You would go home and celebrate knowing that you are a free man!

This is exactly what Jesus has done for us. That is why He alone deserves our praise and thanksgiving.

Since Jesus has paid the price in full, there's no need to remember your sins cause it has already been taken care of.
So the next time Satan comes knocking at your door reminding you of your sins, speak aloud and tell him, "Satan, it is written, by the blood of Jesus Christ I am a new creation and I am free from all condemnation!"
Remember, he can't stand it when a child of God knows his identity in Christ!

Now that we know what Jesus' blood has done for us, does it mean that we can go around sinning like we used to when we were sinners? Absolutely not! In fact, the truth is the opposite!
Once you receive the nature of God, your desire will be to serve and do that which is pleasing to Him.
You are no longer a sinner but a righteous son of God!

1 John 1:7,9 says that if we walk in fellowship with God and our brother, the blood cleanses us from all sin.

We may make mistakes in life but if we confess them, God will forgive us of them all.

Say this confession:
Father I thank You, that by the blood of Jesus, I have been redeemed, forgiven, cleansed, made righteous, sanctified. Therefore Satan has no power over me and no place in me. I renounce him and I loose myself from him, by the blood of Jesus! Amen!

Praise and worship should be a daily practice in our everyday living!
Some think that it should only be done at church on Sundays but that's not what the Bible teaches us.

The story of Daniel and the lions is a good example to demonstrate this.
Let's look at Daniel 6:10: Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, AND GAVE THANKS BEFORE HIS GOD, AS HE DID BEFORE.

Notice the words "as he did before."
If you've read the story, you'll remember that there was a decree made where no one could worship any other gods except the King.

However, Daniel didn't have to worry about this situation because he knew who his God was.
Nothing could stop him from worshipping God - not even if it meant being thrown into the lions den!

See, when you truly KNOW who your God is, nothing can stop you from praising and worshipping Him!
Just like Daniel, you will experience the miraculous in your life when you are a thankful person to God.
The more thankful you are, the more you'll begin to see your prayers answered!

Now, the consequences of unthankfulness are very dangerous!
In the natural, we would definetly stay away from things that are poisonous and harmful to our body but many of us don't realise that even unthankfulness is a killer!

In the Old Covenant, when we read about the children of Israel, many times we see that they were unthankful to God.

God was always faithful to provide everything they needed but when they approached a crisis, immediately they started grumbling and complaining.
These people only thanked God when everything went well in their lives.
As a result, many of them died in the wilderness and could not experience the blessings God had for them in the promised land.

Now let us understand that God wasn't the one who destroyed them - it was Satan.

John 10:10 tells us that Satan is the one who steals, kills and destroys. God is the author of abundant life!

These examples are mentioned in the Bible for us to learn from them and also so that we wouldn't have to face the same consequences that they went through.

Whenever you've felt a sense of spiritual dryness in your life, it could be because of a lack of praising and worshipping God.
As said before, praise and worship should be a daily part of our lives and not just done at church.

Even Jesus himself had a thankful heart to His Father! (Matthew 14:19)

Philippians 4:6 says: Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

The qualification for an answer to prayer is to throw aside care and start thanking God.
In a prayer of faith, our response is to go before the Lord with thanksgiving even before seeing the answer.

So when you come to God in prayer, don't start telling Him all of your needs, instead start praising and worshipping Him. By doing this continually, all those cares and worries would seem so small to you because you've chosen to magnify the greatness of God!! Hallelujah!

Thankfulness should be a habit in your life! The more you do it, the more you'll begin to hear God's voice and make right decisions in life. You'll also start to grow in the spirit and see an attitude change in your life!

Here are some scriptures on thankfulness:
Zephaniah 3:17
Colossians 1:10-12
Ephesians 5:19,20
1 Thessalonians 5:18
